WHAT OUR OWNERS SAY

  • “We wanted to drop a short note to you, thanking all who contributed to the delivery of Breathe last week.

When we went looking for boats we had a number of requirements that we were clear about and many other areas where we were less certain, so were looking for assistance in understanding the options and which would best suit our needs. From our first dealings with Mary we felt that we would be assisted in buying a boat that was specified to meet our needs, rather than what the sales people wanted to sell.

We have been greatly appreciative of the fact that this culture is evident throughout the Windcraft organisation, including sales, administration, commissioning and service. That culture has contributed to us being very happy with Breathe, we are looking forward to many pleasurable years sailing her.”

Gordon and Trudi Butler – Hanse 418 “Breathe”
  • “I chose the 455 as I liked a couple of features over the competitors, and I also thought (and hoped) that it would sail better.  As I now know, the 455 sails really well, remarkably well balanced and high upwind and pretty slippery reaching.  In a recent SSANZ two handed race in Auckland we won our division on corrected time but the overall performance on the water impressed us on board.  Tuatahi was fast all day and certainly surprised a few competitors.  The self tacking jib makes sailing easy and boat very maneuverable but in under 10 knots the 455 benefits from an overlapping headsail.

Overall very happy and pleasantly surprised with overall performance..”

Aaron Young – Hanse 455 “Tutahi”
  • “We love our new 418. The finish quality, and the attention to detail in the design is very high for a production yacht.

It is a very easy boat to manage and sailing performance is great without comprising on comfort and style.

The big hull windows provide great views outside when down below and the large hatches allow for plenty of light and air to flow into the boat.

It is a great family boat.”

Harley Brighouse – Hanse 418 “Independence”
  • “I was fairly new to sailing and wanted to own my own boat. I looked at many different sailing boats but after speaking to Mary at Team Windcraft I knew the best choice for short-handed sailing for my 10 year old son and I was a Hanse with its self-tacking jib.
I have owned a Hanse 415 for 1 year now and never looked back. I can easily sail the boat alone or with my son confidently and safely.
Team Windcraft have been there to give advice and support to me every step of the way from ordering the boat and selecting the best equipment options for my needs, through to learning how to sail the boat.”

    Peter Melleuish – Hanse 415

The new Hanse 510’s eye-catching lines with a slightly reverse bow and hard chine softening toward the stern promises a stable, fast hull shape. Our first 510 is due in the second half of 2023 and we are looking forward to seeing what this exceptional yacht can do.

Handover day is the best part of our job, sharing the new boat experience with our valued clients. And this stunning Fjord 41XL the first to be brought into Australia, cruised out straight away for some Fjord fun times. The new Solaris 40 designed by Javier Soto Acebal is sure to make an impression at BootDusseldorf. We are especially keen to see how this fantastic looking yacht performs on the water.

Bass Strait at sunset is one of the last places you want a kite take down to go wrong. The crew of Llama II, a Dehler 46 competing in the recent Rolex Sydney Hobart do a good job in 20+ knots of breeze. Bass Strait more than lives up to its reputation as a notorious stretch of water. I’ve swum in... it during dead calm in my first Sydney Hobart in 1987 and witnessed first hand its terrifying destructive power in the 1998 race when I was in the ABC helicopter shooting with Gary Ticehurst (RIP old mate) and Pete Sinclair one of the best cameraman in the business and a sailor himself.
