hanse 540,hanse yachts

Hi Peter,

I would just like to let you know that the Hanse 540e that I bought through you 3 years ago (after checking out heaps of new yachts for sale) performed exceptionally well through the heavy breezes at Hamilton Island Race Week 2011.

As you know, on one particular day, we had 30knots and the boat managed to average 10.2knots downwind over a two hour period with a max speed of 15.1knots.

The boat felt very stable. On the windward leg we able to reach speed of 9 to 9.5knots.

The whole 41nm race,windward-leeward, only took us 5:30hrs. We had some experienced sailors on board but what was more impressive was that we had some non sailors on board and they felt very safe.

Could you please pass on my thanks and appreciation to all those at Hanse for building me an exceptional boat.

Kind regards

Robert Salteri

Hi Nick, Dave and Peter,

Just a short note to say thanks for the follow up on Fly South repairs.

As you know I've been away and wasn't around when your shipwright Dave Griffin came down to do the repair work on the bubbling floor paneling.

I returned to check out the boat earlier this week and once again you guys have exceeded all!

So refreshing to return to find a note from Dave explaining what he had done additional items he had checked on, advice on a few things and he left a neat little pump to access difficult to access points in the bilge.

Thanks guys much appreciated.

I've said it before but your after sales service is exemplary particularly given that I am in the far south and servicing for Windcraft is tricky.

Thanks again

Neil Wade

Dear Mr Schmidt,

My wife and I own a Hanse 470e called Sunboy.

My wife, my two daughters, Nikola who was then 14, my daughter Alayna who was then 9 sailed on her in England prior to leaving the UK in May 2009.

We sailed across the Channel to France and then to the Channel Islands where we were joined by our family friend Luke who was then 18.

It is fair to say that my family did not have very much sailing experience and Luke had never been on a yacht before.

We ended up sailing our boat across the Atlantic, through the Panama and then across the Pacific reaching our home port in Coffs Harbour Australia in September 2010, sailing nearly 16,000 miles.

The boat was fantastic, so easy to sail and she performed so well in the oceans of the world.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this boat for any family contemplating sailing around the world.

When we arrived in Australia, we contacted Windcraft in Sydney in relation to having some leaking windows repaired, which had been a bit of an ongoing issue but one which we had been assured would be rectified when we arrived back home in Australia.

I have just returned from Windcraft after spending a few days there getting the work done on our boat.

I would simply like to draw to your attention what an incredible group of people they are at Team Windcraft but in particular single out Mr Nick Jones, Team Windcraft's After Sales Manager.

Nick Jones,yacht service

I have been exposed to many great after sales managers in my time relating to non marine based companies and have been exposed to some not so great after sales staff in all walks of life.

I say without reservation that the level of service and professionalism that Nick Jones presented to me was simply exceptional.

His identification of problems and how he dealt with them left me feeling complete and total satisfaction.

I will be singing the praises of this company while Team Windcraft continue to employ such wonderful people like Nick and the technicians he engages.

Thank you for producing such a wonderful boat as the Hanse 470 and for allowing me and my family to have been able to experience one of the most memorable adventures we will ever be able to have in our lives.

Thank you for having people like Team Windcraft to look after your valuable customers.

Kind regards,

Allan Sparkes

After over a decade as a power boat owner, I bought a Hanse 430e from Windcraft in Pittwater in November 2009.

I listed my game boat for sale, and set about looking at new yachts for sale to re-kindle the family's interest and my desire for us all once again to enjoy time spent on the water.

It was a genuine step into the unknown, because I had had no meaningful sailing experience prior to then - my 12 year old daughter had been sailing dinghies for years, but that was it!

Immediately I found that there was a bewildering array of yachts for sale with prices to match any budget, and with the Aussie dollar rising against the Euro, some production houses were offering very tempting deals.

I came across Windcraft more or less by accident.

I'd never heard of Hanse Yachts before meeting one of your yacht sales team on the marina where I was just out killing time with my youngest daughter, having wandered there from a nearby competitor's office.

He convinced me to at least consider Hanse, and showed me a beautiful 430e which I had no idea at the time I would eventually buy.

To cut a long story short, I bought the boat and haven't taken a backward step, but I still had to deal with the fact that in spite of years of boating experience, I had no idea how to sail as such.

It was at this point that Mary Bickley from Windcraft introduced me to perhaps their greatest asset - Ric Hawkins.

Ric has a lifetime of sailing experience at all levels, and has the unique gifts of being a truly great communicator and a fine sailing instructor.

He can tailor his instruction to make the most vexing sailing problem understandable to anyone, irrespective of experience or education.

Like all good teachers, he is patient, non-judgemental and always positive - which must be quite a challenge at times!

My wife and I initially had several lessons with Ric (included with our boat purchase), then after making a few mistakes by ourselves, we had another couple of sessions with him that have been invaluable.

Whilst neither of us would pretend to be experts... several months later we now have the confidence and ability to safely enjoy ourselves in moderate conditions both in closed and open water, and importantly we are also less of a liability to other boaters!

I still ask Ric to help me from time to time with more targeted instruction, most recently MOB procedures and sail trim to optimise performance in very light air.

I have found all members of the team at Windcraft to be unconditionally helpful.

The (very few) minor issues that have needed sorting out on my new boat have been dealt with promptly and thoroughly by Allan, without affecting our sailing plans at any time.

The Windcraft/Hanse owners rally in March was brilliant, and we've signed on for the Port Stephens trip in September.

I would not hesitate to recommend Windcraft and Hanse to anyone comparing new yachts for sale.

Although my yachting experience is brief it has been extremely positive, and I can report that the family's move into sailing has been all I'd hoped for.

I am comfortable with having paid perhaps a little more at the time than some of the knock-down bargains going around after the GFC, but the value to me has been returned with interest in the outstanding support that I have received since day one and continue to enjoy today.
