Hanse Group News - Factory Visit 2012
Windcraft MD Peter Hrones enjoyed a fascinating visit to the Hanse Group factory in Germany in July 2012.
The factory is fully booked and the marina is packed with big boats like the Moody 62 DS shown here.
In Peter's words...
"As the Hanse Group grows it seems the average size of the yachts people buy grows.
Everyone seems to be up-sizing with everything from the Hanse 385 up proving incredibly popular.
6 Moody 62 DS boats have launched this year so far..."
Peter was particularly impressed with the new Hanse 575
"It was great to see the finishing touches being added to the first Hanse 575..." said Peter
"...this is a very impressive boat. I particularly like the massive side decks with continuous bulwark.
The clean and clear decks are typically Hanse and there are an amazing number of hatches in the deck - they are more like skylights than hatches.
And of course this means the interior is incredibly light and airy.
This yacht has an huge cockpit - the same size as on the 630. I also really the unique garage set-up - launching your tender is going to be child's play.
Overall this is an incredible amount of boat for the money".

Nick Black's 445 Looking Good
Nick Black is just 29 years old.
And he's just about to set off on the trip of a lifetime, sailing a Hanse 445 back from Germany to Australia.
This is Nick's new boat almost ready for him.
While Peter was at the factory he checked up on the boat and chatted to Nick's Dad John about the fit-out.
The whole process had gone really smoothly with extras like the water maker and complex electronics being fitted by local contractors working with the Hanse Group.
